Wow, Sarah!

Powerful sharing! Wish I'd been so in tune when my children left home, AND I'm grateful for the many lessons still offered. Hugs to you & your son!!

There are many moments of grief once you become a Mom. Even the ultimate one we fear is nothing compared to the joy. Let the joy comfort you.

WOW!! How beautiful was that?... Beyond additional words to describe is how beautiful that was... both in its prose and the emotion it evoked... You've touched me to my core... not only with the simple beauty of your words, but with my understanding through my own experiencing... I bow to you dear Sarah, and with sweeping gesture I gracefully doff my hat. 🙇... 🌷💞

I went through this last year. And like you, my leaving home was so different - left and kinda disappeared. We do know more than our own mothers and have brought up our children differently to our own experience.

My son came home to visit 3 months later 😃 which totally surprised me. We have hour long chats on the phone. He's doing really well. I truly feel as a mother - job well done. I'm sure you feel the same.

Yes, the best thing that can happen is for them to leave in this way, and now I’m so curious to see what direction my 16yo will go.
